Robert A. Alpert’s principal areas of practice include corporate law, where he provides general counsel to businesses, as well as real estate law, commercial litigation, and estate planning and administration. He advises his corporate clients on day-to-day legal issues including commercial, operational, employment, transactional, and regulatory issues. Bob has also represented buyers and sellers in the acquisition and sale of a variety of businesses, including supermarkets, hotels, bars and restaurants, office buildings, warehouses, rental properties, and manufacturing facilities.
Bob regularly manages contract agreements including drafting and negotiating vendor, licensing, software, non-compete, and employment agreements. He has specific experience with Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology (IT) contracts, protecting licensed copyrights, trademarks, and IP rights. Bob also manages commercial construction agreements and litigation for all types of commercial and industrial construction to help both owners and contractors minimize risk. He has litigated commercial construction cases involving workmanship and design defects.
Bob’s real estate practice involves representing buyers and sellers in a wide array of commercial real estate transactions including purchase agreements, long-term agreements of sale, easements, and licenses. He also represents lessors and lessees in negotiating, drafting, and closing commercial leases including office buildings, malls, warehouses, and ground leases. In addition, Bob is a licensed real estate title agent, representing both residential and commercial buyers and sellers.
