Nicole O’Hara Participates in ABA Young Lawyers’ Division Annual Meeting

Attorney Nicole J. O’Hara is a District Representative for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD). As such, she recently attended the YLD 2016 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California from August 4th through the 7th. The event consisted of several educational sessions on both law-related topics, including “Developments in Election Law” and “HIV and the Workplace: The State of the Law”, as well as legal industry subjects, including “How to Make the Most Out of Frequent Flyer Programs for Travelling Lawyers” and tips for closing arguments.

During the conference, a YLD Assembly was held whereby representatives debate and vote on a variety of topics that will then be passed along to the organization’s governing body (ABA House of Delegates). Debated issues included lawyer referral procedures, CLE credit standards/exceptions, Miranda warning language stipulations, and more. Nicole participated in the YLD Assembly, debating a resolution wherein jurisdictions would be encouraged to mandate that a certain number of CLE credits be devoted exclusively to mental health and the legal profession.

Nicole is an associate in Gross McGinley’s Business Services Group, concentrating her practice on intellectual property transactions including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
