ACIDA Approves Sale of Neuweiler Brewery Site to Ruckus Brewing
On February 25, 2014, the Allentown Commercial and Industrial Development Authority (ACIDA) approved the agreement of sale for the Neuweiler Brewery site to Ruckus Brewing. Ruckus, a company currently based in New York, plans to establish a $30 million, full-scale brewery operation on the Waterfront located in the Allentown NIZ. The company originally faced difficulties securing the purchase amount which delayed closing on the property over the past year.
Last night, approval for closing was given by ACIDA, unanimously. According to the Express-Times, Attorney Jack Gross, Vice Chairman of ACIDA, suggested Ruckus present progress reports on the project annually, and quoted: “So at least we’re not waiting three years and then saying, ‘Oh, what happened?'”
