Job Opening: Estate Paralegal
Estate Paralegal - Full Time
Join us and be a part of a progressive, dynamic team of professionals! Gross McGinley’s Wills, Trusts and Estates Group is looking for an additional Estate Paralegal to work with this growing team. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in a law firm. Experience in the area of estate administration is a must. Qualified candidates must also possess excellent technology and organizational skills. The desire to be an integral part of a team in a fast-paced environment is a must!
Knowledge, Responsibilities and Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalent.
- Paralegal degree.
- Three years on the job experience in order to gain expertise needed to do substantive legal support work.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
- Ability to provide transparent and precise recordkeeping pertaining to estate checking accounts, including the use of various software programs, i.e., Lackner, QuickBooks/Quicken, etc.
- Work will require 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, photocopiers, fax machines, printers and typewriter.
- Ability to maintain an organized and effective work space.
- Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally and statewide, via private or public conveyance to assist attorney in attending to client needs on legal matters.
