Gross McGinley – Major Sponsor of Kruise-4-Kids Event
The law firm of Gross McGinley, along with State Farm Insurance and First Star Bank were major sponsors of the First Annual Kruise 4 Kids Event. The event was held in memory of Guy Randall Ackley, a former local radio personality, advertising executive, motorcyclist and a person that spent countless hours working on children’s charities.
The ride was held on October 19th. The day played beautifully, and the consensus of the riders was that it was among the best rides they have attended and look forward to the event next year. The ride began at Scott Powersports, with the last checkpoint of the ride through Gross McGinley’s parking lot.
Riders and volunteers enjoyed an after event party and closing ceremony at the Main Gate. Joining Mayor Ed Pawlowski was The Hawk’s Rick Michaels and a WAEB “Good Guys” reunion in a “celebration of Allentown”.
The event rose over $20,000 for the following children’s charities:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley
- Camelot for Children
- The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley
- Patriot Guard Riders
Attorney Thomas E. Reilly of Gross McGinley, along with other key people, spent a huge amount of time and effort organizing the event. According to Tom, “plans are in the works for next year’s event. The Second Annual Kruise 4 Kids Event will be held on October 11, 2009”.
