Litigation Group Presents on Evidence to Local Bar Associations

September 22, 2017 | Category: Events, News

Gross McGinley’s Litigation Group presented “Top Five Evidentiary Pitfalls at Trial” at the Bar Association of Lehigh County and the Northampton County Bar Association in early fall. Attorney speakers included Kimberly Krupka, Jennifer Weed, and Sarah Charette.

During the one-hour course, Gross McGinley’s experienced litigators reviewed the top five evidentiary rules that should be at the forefront of an attorney’s mind when prepping for trial including hearsay, impeachment, damages, privilege, and expert qualifications. Their presentation provided an overview of each topic and how each apply inside and outside of the courtroom. Our litigators also provided suggested references for reviewing evidentiary procedure without attendees having to crack open their old law school textbooks.

Kim Krupka is a focused litigator, representing individuals and businesses before Pennsylvania State and Federal courts, as well as administrative agencies and local municipalities. She represents medical professionals and large hospitals and health networks in patient care matters. Kim routinely represents corporations and individuals in a comprehensive range of civil litigation issues, ranging from negligence actions to contractual employment disputes.

Jenny Weed practices complex commercial litigation in matters involving insurance defense, personal injury defense, medical malpractice defense, and product liability defense. She has filed amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the insurance industry and has argued several cases before appellate courts of significant public interest to that industry.

In addition to assisting the firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense team, Sarah Charette counsels individual clients in a wide range of criminal defense matters. Prior to joining Gross McGinley, Sarah worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Berks County where she handled the majority of the office’s felony domestic violence and sexual assault cases.
