Noise Ordinance Voted Down in Lower Mount Bethel Township

April 12, 2004 | Category: Attorney News | Tags: ,

A proposed noise ordinance in Lower Mount Bethel Township was recently voted down by Township Supervisors after extensive hearings.

Attorneys Malcolm Gross, Susan Wild and Kimberly Krupka participated in the hearings on behalf of PPL, which has a 50-year-old power plant in the Township, as well as a newly-built power plant, both of which would have had to close if the noise ordinance was passed. The proposed ordinance was vigorously opposed by many Township residents as being unfair and excessive. In addition, they believed it would have put many Township residents out of work due to the closings by local industries, including PPL and other major operations.
