GMLE Partner Jackson Eaton was one of four presenters at a seminar titled, “Tax-Exempt Organizations in Pennsylvania.” Sponsored by Lorman Education Services, the seminar focused on strategic planning for nonprofit organizations, program evaluation and organizational effectiveness and investment management of charitable funds.

Mr. Eaton reviewed the statute and regulations allowing the IRS to impose personal monetary sanctions against those who receive and those who approve payment excess benefits (excess compensation) for non-profit 501 (c)(3) and (4) officers, employees and other persons, as well as safe harbor procedures to protect board members and others responsible for approving executive compensation and other benefits.

He has represented not-for-profit, tax-exempt organizations of various kinds for more than 25 years. His clients include small, local exempt entities as well as large multistate 501(c)(3) organizations.
