Yekaterina Bacenet

Associate

Driven to help individuals plan and provide for their loved one's future

As a member of the firm’s estates team, Yekaterina “Kathy” Bacenet works with individuals, families, and business owners to create customized estate plans. Guided by a philosophy that “no law or ordinance is mightier than understanding,” she is especially passionate about educating young adults on the importance of estate planning.

In addition to estate planning, Kathy is a skilled estate administration attorney. She works diligently to guide and assist executors and administrators through the probate process, providing counsel in simple estates, as well as more challenging estates. She is adept at preparing petitions, due diligence searches, and estate accounting, offering the utmost professionalism and proficiency to her clients.

Prior to joining Gross McGinley, Kathy practiced estate and real estate law at New York law firms in Staten Island and Brooklyn. By reviewing and providing tailored legal documents like disclosures, real estate contracts, lease agreements, wills, and POAs, Kathy helped her clients protect what mattered most to them.

Fluent in Russian, Kathy has volunteered her time to assist U.S. immigrants with citizenship and DACA applications. Within the community, she helped provide low-income and disabled veterans and their dependents with pro bono legal services for disability and benefits compensation matters.
