Sam Cohen Joins American Red Cross Board
Gross McGinley Attorney Sam Cohen was appointed to the 2020 Board of Directors for American Red Cross, Lehigh Valley-Bucks Chapter (ARC). The Volunteer Board, comprised of representatives from many different community sectors, helps develop a local vision and ensure that the chapter is an effective steward of donor contributions. His inaugural term will be three years.
As Sam joins the board, ARC has been active in establishing and raising funds for the Fountain Street Fire Fund, helping 13 displaced Allentown families impacted by a rowhome fire. Serving a population of 1.2 million people in Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties, ARC provides food and shelter in emergencies, assists members of the armed forces and their families, teaches lifesaving skills, collects lifesaving blood, and more.
In addition to his board role with ARC, Sam also serves on the Lehigh Valley Arts Council Board of Directors, and is an active member of the LVHN Board of Associates. He is a former member of the Moravian Academy Alumni Board. In Lehigh County, Sam serves as Assistant Solicitor, as well as an Alternate Member of Upper Milford Township’s Zoning Hearing Board.
Earlier this year, Sam was honored as one of Lehigh Valley Business‘s 2019 Forty Under 40. The award recognizes young professionals who are making an impact within their companies and in the business community. Recipients are selected based on their commitment to growth and professional excellence.
For the past 13 years, Sam has proven his value as a leader and a team player in the legal and business communities. A Partner in the firm’s Litigation Group, he focuses his legal practice on commercial litigation, employment litigation, and business disputes. In addition to his leadership in the community, Sam has taken the initiative to step into leadership positions within Gross McGinley and has played a vital role in the advancement of the firm.
