Nicole O’Hara Presents on IP Concerns for Artists

Earlier this week, Attorney Nicole O’Hara participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Lehigh Valley Arts Council (LVAC) to a room of artists. The panelists discussed important considerations for artists when entering competitions for commissions, exhibitions, and sales. Nicole’s fellow presenter, Daniel Kaintz, is a local sculptor whose works have been exhibited throughout the United States. Daniel discussed the components of a successful art submission including the right marketing materials and how best to present a portfolio. Nicole spoke on the contractual requirements of submissions and emphasized the importance of reading all contract terms and understanding each signers’ rights. Randall Forte, Executive Director of LVAC, moderated the discussion.

Nicole is a member of Gross McGinley’s Intellectual Property Group, counseling individuals and businesses on copyright, trademark, patent, and licensing issues.
