Stuart Shmookler Presents to PSEA on Estate Planning for Retirees

Attorney Stuart Shmookler recently presented at the Pennsylvania State Education Association Annual Pre-Retirement Conference at Bear Creek Mountain Resort for the Eastern region. State educators who are close to retirement were invited to hear from financial and legal professionals on important topics for retirees as well as the various PSEA-funded programs available to members.

Stuart’s presentation, entitled “Where Did I Put My Bifocals: A Look at Estate Planning for Retirees”, highlighted the important factors retirees should consider with regard to their estate planning and health care planning. His presentation reviewed basic estate planning documents and discussed the importance of revising such documents to ensure they are up-to-date and reflect a retirees current wishes. He also provided a helpful checklist for retirees to ensure they have all their bases covered. Finally, Stuart covered the role of an estate planning attorney and what retirees should expect when drafting or revising their estate planning documents.
