YMCA Branch Advisory Council Appoints Kara Beck

Attorney Kara M. Beck was recently appointed to the YMCA Branch Advisory Council in Allentown. As a board member, Kara will help guide the organization in its mission to nurture the potential of kids and support the local community, while helping those within lead healthier lives.

The Allentown YMCA, a branch location of the Greater Valley YMCA, offers programs to people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. The downtown Allentown location offers exercise facilities, a pool, racquetball courts, gymnasiums, and multiple meeting rooms. The organization also offers child care and early learning services and acts as a warming center in the winter for Allentown’s homeless.  The Greater Valley YMCA is volunteer-led, operating seven locations throughout the greater Lehigh Valley area.

Kara, a resident of Hellertown, is a member of Gross McGinley’s Litigation Group, counseling clients in contract disputes and commercial litigation matters. She assists the firm’s insurance defense clients in coverage matters. Beck is a native of Carbon County and worked as an attorney at a large Pittsburgh law firm prior to returning to the Lehigh Valley. She earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2017 and her B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College in 2014.
