Michael J. Blum Helps Educate Local Nurses on Legal Aspects of Pressure Sores
Attorney Michael J. Blum participated in a Clinical Education Session for Nurses at Easton Hospital on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, where he helped educate local nurses on the legal aspects of pressure sores.
Hospitals continually strive to keep all of their nurses and medical providers abreast of the latest developments in all aspects of nursing care. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and, sometimes, the first line of defense against germs, bacteria and infection.
With the recent successes of Gross McGinley’s Medical Malpractice team defending institutions in pressure ulcer cases, Attorney Michael Blum was asked to participate and provide his legal experience in Clinical Education classes. Attorney Blum teamed up with the Hospital’s Wound, Ostomy and Continence nurses to discuss the latest developments in preventing, diagnosing and treating pressure ulcers and related alterations in skin integrity. The Hospital’s WOC Nurse provided the latest hands-on information on the prevention and treatment of skin conditions, while Attorney Blum discussed his legal experiences on ways to avoid skin breakdown and future litigation.
